Along with every good skincare routine you need a Sarah. I mean an Aesthetician. (you want the best though right?) Nestled in on King Street in Delhi, Ontario is a place that feels like the home you wish you had. Classic and contemporary decor, wrapped in warmth. Complexions Wellness Boutique is the spa everyone will be petitioning to have in their town. (if you aren't already)
Every once and a while I go full princess and treat myself to Sarah's Special, consisting of a 1 hour aroma massage, deluxe facial and spa pedicure. Ever had a coconut charcoal foot scrub ? No ? You need to get a hold of your life. This is where our day begins.
After your feet are silky and summer scented, you undress and tuck into the massage bed. Try to contain your giddiness, it's time to relax. Deep breaths...
Face down you start to wonder, has anyone ever melted during a massage ? I'm not a day time sleeper (my brain won't allow it unless I'm riddled with the plague), but if you're an easy sleeper or nap time aficionado it's already too late. See you in an hour!
Since Sarah is already familiar with my skin, we skipped the getting to know you section, but if you're new she would've gotten down to the interview before your appointment began. Based on skin type and concerns Sarah will prepare a facial with the maximum potential just for you.
So for today's excess oil, I had a detox facial. (the last one was hydrating and next time we're going to do microdermabrasion!) The house skincare line is Diego Dalla Palma. A pharmaceutical grade line from Italy, with the highest set of standards for their ingredients. (the line is water based and a part of fair trade)
If you've never had a facial, I don't want you to be discouraged by the terminology. It is necessary and the results are proven by the glow when you're walking out the door and even more so by the improvement the next morning. (not to mention a down right luxurious time)
Here's the rundown of Sarah's process.
*Cell Detoxium (deep cleansing gel)
*Mendalic Acid Exfoliant (ahh yes scrubbing those dead skin cells)
*Lymphatic Drainage (a massage to treat the accumulation of fluid)
*Extraction (not painful but satisfying)
*Tone

*Intensive Hydrating Eye and Lip Treatment and Cold Hammer Compress
*Detoxifying Essential Concentrate (restores balance and allows the skin to more easily absorb other products)
*Pore Refining Serum sealed with Sebum Normalizing Lotion
During all this magic is also a hand and foot massage, a stimulating peppermint oil blend scalp massage and to top it all off the towels are infused with sweet orange essential oil. Someone call Disney, I'm ready to move into the castle.
Time for toes! You might think all pedicures are created basically equal, but that's because you've never sat in the throne with your feet in the mermaid coloured tub indulging in the Bathorium experience.

Rosemary Citrus soak? You don't have to ask me twice.
